 Choosing An Acne Soap

Finding the right acne soap is an important part of having clear skin. There are tons of different choices out there, so how do you figure out which one is the best for you? The answer is simple, try a bunch of them out! Everyone’s skin is different, so what works great for me, probably won’t do too much for you, so you’ll have to do some experimenting before you can determine which is going to work the best.

The first, and most important, thing to do is to determine your skin type. You probably already have a good idea what it is, but if you don’t spend a few minutes to figure out if your skin is oily, dry, or balanced. This is going to be a major factor in which acne soap you use. The pH levels and the concentration of active ingredients play a major role in whether a soap will work with a certain type of skin.

Acne Treatment Soap

Not every type of soap will help treat acne, in fact some soaps will actually make it worse. Some soaps have chemicals in them that are used to moisturize clear skin that contribute to clogging up your pores. An acne treatment soap will not do this, instead it will have active ingredients, like salicylic acid, that will work to clean pores from the inside out. It may leave your skin a bit drier than normal.

How do you tell if something is working? The easiest and most obvious way to tell if your acne soap is doing its job is whether or not your acne is getting any better. These treatments will take time to work, so give a treatment at least two weeks before deciding if it’s right for you. The second way to determine if you have the right soap is by how dry your skin becomes. If your face becomes overly dry, move to something else because that soap is too strong for your skin. What you’re looking for is a soap that clears acne without drying your face too bad.

Natural Acne Soap

There are tons of natural acne soaps that are very effective. They’re especially effective for people that have very sensitive skin. They don’t use the same harsh chemicals that traditional soap for acne prone skin does. Instead they use natural and plant based cleansers.

You can take it a step farther with organic acne soap that will help clear your skin without doing extra damage to the planet. These products cost a bit more than traditional acne soap, but if you care about the environment the price is well justified.

Acne Body Soap

There are tons of different acne body soaps and body washes on the market. They function the same as acne treatment soap, but work to tackle your bacne instead. Be careful not to get these on your face in the shower if you are also using an acne face soap, or you’ll run the risk of over medicating and drying your skin out pretty bad.

The worst thing you can do is to keep putting off treating your acne. Figure out what your skin type is like and go get an acne soap that matches it. It’s going to take a few tries before you find the one that works best, but when you do you’ll have the clear skin that you’ve always wanted.
